Panel Registration Announcement

All Panel Registration, Renewal and Re-categorization forms and supporting documentation must be received by the Deputy Public Defender, Daniel James, on the last business day in September. (Deadline will be extended to mid November for Attorneys awaiting admission as a result of a successful bar examination in July of that same year).

Please review these Registration Form(s) as they have been modified to reflect changes in GAL Appointments as well as insuring compliance with OAC sec. 120-1-10.

Additionally, our office has recently been advised that a panel attorney is considered to be a independent contractor and, pursuant to ORC 145.38 (B) (6), cannot receive OPERS benefits and work for the same emplorer from whom they retired.

Any OPERS retiree should review their participation to insure that their benefits are not forfieted.
