Ms. Ford is a 2002 graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law. She was admitted to practice in Ohio that same year and admitted to practice in Kentucky in 2003.
Ms. Ford was employed as a Staff Attorney focusing on special education advocacy for The Children’s Law Center, inc. from 2003-2004 before she transitioned to The Hamilton County Public Defender’s Office, Guardian ad Litem Division. Ms. Ford has served as an Attorney Guardian ad Litem since November 2004, and she was appointed the Education Specialist for the office in April 2013
Ms. Ford’s career goal has always been to represent children. As an Attorney Guardian ad Litem, she serves as a court appointed guardian ad litem for children who are the subjects of Dependency Court complaints alleging abuse, neglect, and/or dependency. This includes advocating for children in dependency, delinquency, probate and criminal hearings, and in all phases of dependency litigation, including trials, review hearings, and in cameras.
Ms. Ford is qualified, under Rule 48 of the Ohio Supreme Court’s Rules of Superintendence, to serve as a Guardian ad Litem.
Ms. Ford is trained to serve as a parent surrogate for children on her caseload who receive special education services.
