The Hamilton County Public Defender Juvenile Division has been awarded a two-year federal grant from the U.S. Department of Justice and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. The grant will fund the Division’s “Holistic Defense Team Project”. To assist in implementing the project, the Office is seeking a Student Intern. This position is a one to two semester grant-funded internship.
- Under the general supervision and direction from the Juvenile Director, Social Work Fellow, and Mitigation Specialist, the Student Intern will provide direct support to the Social Work Fellow and Mitigation Specialist. Specifically, the Student Intern assist with cases involving juvenile delinquency, where indigent youth are facing serious charges, potential placement outside of their home or transfer to adult court. The Student Intern will also assist the Social Work Fellow and Mitigation Specialist with data collection, the development of materials, and with various community outreach activities.
